June 2010

It was super crazy in June (which is what all my entries start with).

I had lots of meetings at work, I started my Masters classes every Thursday.

I went on vacation for 10 days. I went with my mother to Arkansas, Missouri and Tennessee.

In Arkansas we went to a family reunion, it was great to meet all these people that I'm related to and I'm totally going back next year with Allen, we're going to go fishing.

In Missouri we went to Branson, the entertainment capital of the South. We saw 4 shows; Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede, Shoji Tabuchi (plays violin), Showboat Branson Belle and Noah the musical. They were all great but I think the Shoji Tabuchi show was my favorite. And of course they had the lavish bathrooms. 2400 square feet. We also went on a DUKW tour where mom and I got all wet. We found out the hard way that we sat in the soaker seats.

In Tennessee we stayed at the Heartbreak Hotel, which incidentally is at the end of Lonely Street, and visited Graceland. We also visted a bunch of other museums.

We flew home from Little Rock, Arkansas but not without visiting the Clinton Library. All in all a great trip, no giant problems and everything went according to plan.

And it's been a zoo at work trying to catch up.

May

This month was very busy too. I had to go to San Francisco for work and it was again a long week. I forgot my cell phone charger and that was torture. I can't belive how hard it is to live without a cell phone now a days. Like 10 years ago I probably didn't even use a cell phone and now I can't go a couple of days without it.

This weekend was great. Allen and I got to do all kinds of errands. And we went to the midnight showing of Sex and City 2 last night or really this morning. I loved it. It was over the top just like I expected.

But today we went on a picnic for lunch and it was great to be outdoors and have no TV on, no iPod, just Allen and I.

April

I went to Washington with my mom and the pastors wife from my church to the American Baptist Womens Conference.

And Allen's I went to San Diego and San Juan Capitstrano for our anniversary.

March

March was quite a busy month.

I had to go to Berkeley for work and it was a long week.

Super Bowl

As we do every year, I shaved Allens head today to represent the team he wishes to win the super bowl. Allen wants the New Orlean Saints so ...
Now we're going to stock up on super bowl supplies. It's been raining but we are not in the way of any of the mud slides but we've been watching the news all morning. It's been crazy. It's so incredible how destructive mud can be and we are currently being warned about flash flood warnings for LA county. Hope everyone else is doing well.

January 2010

We have not been up to much this past month. We have been cleaning up after the Christmas holiday ... putting decorations away, moving furniture around, putting away presents, etc.

Last weekend I decided that I needed to get serious about being healthy for 2010 so I bought a treadmill at sport authority and have walked on it every day since.

So my New Years resolutions are:
1) Read all the books in my cabinet
2) Excercise daily

Allen's New Years resolution is to lose weight.

We'll see how we do but last year my resolution was to send out birthday cards to everyone that I knew and that seemed to go well.

Last couple weeks of December

Allen and I visited my parents in Chico for the first time in many years. It was great to visit with everyone and although Allen went home on the Sunday after Christmas I was able to stay through until the following Wednesday.

My sister got into a car accident and that was a lot of drama. I don't want to get into any more details.

Allen and I had a boring New Years Eve at home watching TV and a bunch of movies that we rented. Midnight came and went as it always does and we went to bed at 12:05am as we usually do. It was neat to have an extra day off with Allen.

And this past weekend we spent cleaning up after Christmas and cleaning the house. We have been neglecting since before Christmas.

Tonight we went to Black Angus for dinner, I ordered a really bad steak and then Allen made me go to Lowe's. He had to return an electric screw driver (I asked him what the difference was between an electric screw driver and a drill and he didn't know) and they gave us all kinds of stuff ... you don't have a box ... I need someone from tools to verify this is the item on the receipt ... why is it missing parts ... blah blah blah.

Well, this weekend we have no plans so we'll probably go to Costco and we'll probably watch a bunch of TV.
